A Mother's Ears

It's been fourteen months, since I hear you
I heard your first scream that suddenly stalled
Nervous voices whispered beyond the room, where I got stitches
Fears burst gently, but finally fade along with your second cries

Upon my chest, I heard you breathed
I heard your first thirst which was the signal of your hunger
I heard the tiny beat which caressed the surface of my skin
The rhythm raced with mine, and connecting our soul

My happiness still yet satisfied
The doctor came to prevent you went home
The levels of bacteria in your blood remained high
For the first time, I heard a crack within my core

In one morning, after our morning walk routine
Not as usual, I heard you were voiceless, but your hands were shaking
I turned your face toward me, white eyes and blue lips was your answer
You had your first seizure, I heard nothing, but shattered

Today, I heard you giggle
Your tiny steps echoing your strength, fulfilling the room of my faith
It's been forteen months, since I hear you
I hear a new hope, I see the new you
